Taking on an apprentice is easy with the right provider
Rugby Borough Council recently discovered that taking on an apprentice needn't be daunting.
The council approached Warwickshire College needing a Human Resources apprentice. The placement has been a big success.
Suzanne Turner, Human Resources Manager at Rugby Borough Council said, “Warwickshire College has been very supportive. We’ve had regular meetings in our offices. They helped us all the way, and clarified everything.” The apprentice, Verity Almond said: “The confidence and skills that this has given me will stay with
me for a lifetime." |

Investing in bright sparks
Local firm Butcher’s Pet Care has teamed up with Warwickshire College to offer an NVQ and apprenticeship scheme in electrical engineering to local people.
Once completed, the apprentices will be offered the chance to
continue working full-time in the factory's electrical maintenance
team.
Graham Baker, Chairman of Butcher’s Pet Care, said: "People are at the heart of the Butcher’s business, so at a time when many
firms are cutting back on staff, we are delighted to be the ones investing in
our local community.”
